Tuition Assistance

We encourage families to apply for Tuition Assistance as we work to make Owen County Montessori (OCM) accessible to every child in our community; the Montessori classroom offers an inclusive educational environment for all. OCM values the diversity that financial aid creates for the learning community, welcoming students from a wide variety of backgrounds. OCM strives to make tuition affordable for families seeking a Montessori education with our needs-based Tuition Assistance process. Owen County Montessori is a not-for-profit (501c3), independent school where tuition and fees are set by the governing Board.

Families who would like to be considered for Tuition Assistance must apply online through a third party, School and Student Services (SSS). To learn more about the application process, please visit the School and Student Services website.

The first round of application review will begin April 15th, 2016.

We will continue to review new applications through the end of May, 2016 while we hold open enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year.

Directions for Tuition Assistance Application:

  1. Submit a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online through SSS, they provide a 24-hour help line, available 365 days a year and provide help in both English and Spanish.
  2. Make sure to include (online through SSS);
    – Expense and Resources Statement,
    – Copy of your 2015 Federal Income Tax Return (including all forms & attachments), unless filing an extension.
    – Current pay-stub (unless self-employed)
  3. Mail a Financial Aid Request Letter directly to OCM explaining the family’s need for Tuition Assistance. (School address listed below)

Awards are based on the relative need of families that have applied and the funds available. While OCM will make every effort to maintain financial assistance levels from year to year, conditions may change, so one year’s award is not guaranteed in subsequent years. Therefore, families must apply each year.

Already have an account with SSS?
Login to your account, add our school code (9088) and your information will be sent to us. If you apply by Dec 31st there will not be another application fee. Please fill out the OCM Enrollment form (found on SSS website) and mail a Financial Aid Request Letter directly to OCM (address above).

Eligibility and Criteria
Tuition Assistance is available to new and returning families. OCM’s Board uses objective criteria based upon the needs identified in the independent report from our third party service.
